Description: Video recording of the discovery of the USS Emmons (DD-457/DMS-22). Included in the recording are interviews including those of American survivors and the family of a Japanese kamikaze pilot. The Emmons was an American Destroyer which particpated in fighting in the Pacific Theatre during World War 2. It sank on 6 April 1945, after being badly damaged by Japanese kamikaze attacks in the Battle of Okinawa. It's final resting place was rediscovered February 21, 2001 off Okinawa's Kouri Island.
