Haas was a Photo Interpretation and Intelligence Officer who served in the United States Navy during World War II. Haas' work contributed to the planning and success of the invasions of Sicily (Operation Husky) in July 1943 and the invasion of the beaches of Normandy (D-Day) in June 1944. At the time of his discharge, Haas had risen to the rank of Lieutenant. - 1942
