Description
Report of an interrogation of a German prisoner of war by Lieutenant Lester C. Haas. The German soldier was captured on July 10, 1943 during Operation Husky also known as the Invasion of Sicily. Haas gives a report of the German solider's physical health, location of capture, the type of uniform he was wearing, and intelligence related to the number of Germans in Siciliy, German tanks in the field, and German aircraft on the island. The German soldier also shares his impression of Italian and Japanese troops and his surprise at the attack and treatment received by the Americans after capture.
