Johnson, at Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn, New York, on December 7, 1983, the 42nd anniversary of the Attack on Pearl Harbor. Lloyd O. Johnson was the Commissary and Ship's Store Officer aboard the USS Whitney and was at home with his wife and son 12 miles away from Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack. Mrs. Lee Johnson recounts her experience of the Attack on Pearl Harbor and the following six months as the wife and sister of deployed sailors.
