Tucker interviewing Betty Lou Howard and Elizabeth "Lib" Kittrell Proctor about their recollections of Senator John F. Kennedy's visit to East Carolina College on the presidential campaign trail. Kennedy's visit was the first time a presidential nominee had visited Greenville, NC. Betty Lou Howard speaks about seeing Kennedy at the tobacco warehouse prior to his address at the stadium, attending Kennedy's inauguration with her mother, and the location of the tobacco warehouse and other tobacco industry facilities. Elizabeth "Lib" Kittrell Proctor gives her recollections of Kennedy's visit, describes the location of the stadium and other campus buildings, recalls her personal impressions of Kennedy, and speaks about childhood memories including her associations with the families of East Carolina presidents Wright, Meadows, and Messick, her father's business, her childhood homes and homes of other Greenville families. Interview date July 22, 2008.
