Description: First half of raw footage of Professor of History and University Historian Dr. John A. Tucker's interview with former Senator Robert Morgan. Morgan describes his early life, attending ECTC and the campus environment in the 1940's, his career in public service, his years working with Leo Jenkins on the ECU Board of Trustees, and the challenges they faced with gaining university status and starting the ECU medical school. While he did not attend Senator John F. Kennedy's campaign visit to East Carolina College, he gives his impressions of Kennedy and discusses the influence Kennedy's visit had in following years. Morgan also speaks about his involvement on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence with investigations of America's clandestine involvement in several assassinations and his belief that Kennedy's assassination was ordered by Fidel Castro in retaliation for several CIA assassination attempts against himself. Interview date November 21, 2011.
