Description: Advertisement for Dr. Seth Arnold's Balsam depicting a father sitting in a chair with his feet propped on a footstool and reading a newspaper, a wife sitting in a chair while glancing at her husband, and a girl sitting on the floor beside her mother and looking at her father. There is a bottle of medicine on the table beside the wife. The caption under the picture states: "Why stay at home sick when Dr. Seth Arnold's Balsam will cure you?" This is a puzzle card with two hidden cats in the picture. The reverse of the card states that Dr. Seth Arnold's Balsam is "a medicine warranted to cure. Money refunded after using one Bottle if not Satisfactory." It cures bowel complaints, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera infantum, cholera morbus, and colic. Testimonials are included. The price is 25 cents, 50 cents, and $1.00. Gilman Bros., Proprietors, Boston. (Outside sources indicate that the rights to Dr. Seth Arnold's Balsam was sold by Dr. Seth Arnold Medical Co. to Gilman Bros. in 1868.)
