This collection contains the minutes of the Student Government Association, various committee meeting minutes, correspondence, the organization's governing documents, SGA legislation and resolutions, events and programs related information, and clippings related to the activities of the East Carolina Student Government Association.
Biographical/historical information
The Student Government Association was founded by Robert H. Wright. Initially all students were expected to participate in SGA activities. Eventually the SGA was divided by gender before returning to one association with elected officers.
The East Carolina University Student Government Association began in 1909 and included each member of the student body. For a time, there were seperate male and female associations. They have since merged, and the SGA is still an active part of student life at ECU.

This collection contains the minutes of the Student Government Association, various committee meeting minutes, correspondence, the organization's governing documents, SGA legislation and resolutions, events and programs related information, and clippings related to the activities of the East Carolina Student Government Association.
