Abstract:
Nello L. Teer, Jr., president of Nello L. Teer Company and its affiliates, is featured in WE THE PEOPLE MAGAZINE'S \"North Carolina Businessman in the News\". The company owns its own railroad (Durham and Southern); operates a large stone quarrying and crushing business; and a construction company. Nello L. Teer Sr. started the business in 1909 with a team of mules.

Abstract:
In the Neuse and Trent Rivers as well as scattered across different areas of Craven County, especially in Brice's Creek, fishermen and residents have been catching mullet fish by the thousands. Trapped by the continuation of a construction project headed by the Nello Teer Company, workers inadvertently trapped thousands of mullet fish within the local waters. The Nello Teer Company has reported that up to five hundred people per week have been scooping up mullet fish with a variety of object ranging from tubs to stringers.

Abstract:
The Nello L. Teer Company began in 1909 as a small grading construction company in Durham, and grew to become a worldwide enterprise. To complement construction, the company developed quarries to produce crushed aggregate plus sand and gravel operations in eastern North Carolina. As a roadbuilder, the Teer Company has constructed more than 14,000 miles of highway.
