La Farm Bakery is BUSINESS NORTH CAROLINA magazine's 2007 North Carolina Small Business of the Year. The bakery, which was founded in 1999 in Cary as a husband-and-wife operation by Lionel and Missy Vatinet, now employs twenty-seven workers. La Farm makes daily on the premises handmade bread, pastries, tarts, and sandwiches. Projected revenues for 2007 are over $1.25 million.

La Farm Bakery was founded in 1999 in Cary as a husband-and-wife operation by Lionel and Missy Vatinet. The bakery makes daily on the premises handmade boules, batards, baguettes, and other choices. Vatinet's love of dough and baking began in his childhood in France. He is the author of the recently published A Passion for Bread: Lessons from a Master Baker.
