MINUTES OF THE STAFF MEETING OF THE PSYCHOLOGY DEPARTMENT
November 4, 1963
The staff of the Psychology Department met in Rawl 232 at 4 o'clock p.m.,
Monday, November 4, 1963.
Present: Dr. Julia Marshall, Mr. Robert Graham, Dr. C. T. Martoccia, Dr. Willie
Mae Gillis, Dr. Ruby Bliss, Dr. Jacob Mendel, Dr. J. R. Clarke, Dr.
Benjamin Allen, Mr. Larry Byrd, Dr. A. V. Griffith, Mr. C. R. Dixon,
Mrs. Hazel Stapleton, Mr. Ed. Nicholson, Larry Whitlock, James Butler.
Absent: Dr. Clinton R. Prewett and Teaching Fellow Dan Winslow
In the absence of Dr. Prewett, Mr. Dixon acted as temporary chairman of the meeting.
Dr. Griffith made a report on the President's Advisory Council meeting which he
attended October 29, 1963.
Dr, Mandel reported for the brochure committee that a copy of the brochure was now
in the hands of the administration.
My. Graham reported for the curriculum committee, He went over the new check
sheets which will go into effect in the fall quarter of 1964. The question of
whether or not a minor should be required was discussed at length and it was
the consensus of the opinion of those present that a minor outside the field
Should be required for the Clinical Psychology program, the School Psychologist
and the General-Theoretical progran. My. Graham asked that interested staff
members give to him a list of courses from other departments from which the
psychology students could choose a minor.
