Guy and Magnolia Forbes launched Robersonville Furniture Company in 1959. the couple bought out the original business partners as well as the 1872 building in which the business is still located. Son Glenn joined the business in 1975.

Tim and Amy Roberson are owners of Sunset Stables, an equestrian and farm themed attraction near Robersonville in Martin County. As a catering business, Sunset Stables previously operated the Filling Station Restaurant, which was closed in 2012, but is on schedueled to re-open, Sunday lunch only, on April 10, 2022.
