Mr. Otto Henry

Department of Music

Washington and Jefferson College
Washington, Pennsylvania

Dear Mr. Henry:

Professor Myron Schaeffer of the Toronto University Electronic
Music Studio mentioned to me that you are interested in the compo-
sition of electronic music. He also said that you might be inter-
ested in acquiring equipment for such composition.

We are presently engaged in the development and manufacture
of a system of simple modular electronic instruments designed
expressly for electronic music composition. I am enclosing a
preprint of a paper which I presented before a recent Audio
Engineering Society Convention. Also included is some prelimi-
nary information on the modular instruments which we are now manu-
facturing.

I have been designing and manufacturing electronic instruments
for the production of music for the past ten years. In addition,
I have visited several electronic music studios and have discussed
instrumentation for electronic music composition with many well-
known workers in the field. The equipment which we are now manu-
facturing has been used extensively (and successfully) by at least
one composer.

I would be most interested in showing you our equipment, and
discussing your requirements with you. If you are actively engaged
in equipping an electronic music composition facility, you may be
interested in arranging for us to pay you a visit.

May I hear from you at your convenience?

Very truly yours,
R.A. MOOG CO,

Robert A. ape
