Stefansson details the diary's condition and plans to return it to Blackjack in January [1925] after it is copied. Blackjack was the sole survivor of the failed Wrangel Island Expedition which Stefansson organized. Stefansson later used Blackjack's diary as the basis for his book on the expedition.
