Description: Two photographs (one black and white, one sepia) of the same image. The photo shows a wagon being loaded with cotton bales from the second floor of a barn, a horse and buggy, and six men. Message on the back of the black and white photo is as follows: "Cotton Wagon Dennis T. McLawhorn standing in barn, R. Herman McLawhorn on buggy. My father R.H. Jr. told me that as a child, he rode on a wagon full of cotton pulled by a team of mules on overnight trips to Washington, N.C. where the cotton was sold and loaded onto boats to be shipped to northern markets. A. McLawhorn." Message on the back of the sepia photo is as follows: "Herman in buggy, Dennis in overalls standing, cotton to market." Date approximated.
