The appraisal includes a photograph of the property which was an empty lot with overgrown vegetation. The property was purchased as part of the Shore Drive Redevelopment Project meant to "revitalize" Greenville's downtown area, but which broke up a vibrant African American community and displaced over 250 African American families in the name of economic development.
