Description: Special speaker ban issue of The university report, volume 13, number 4 (July-August, 1965). Four page bi-fold newsprint. The university report was published bi-monthly by the University Development Council of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. North Carolina’s Speaker Ban Law was passed by the North Carolina General Assembly on June 26, 1963. Essentially, it forbade anyone to speak on any University of North Carolina campus with known ties to the Communist Party or any subversive groups advocating overthrow of the U.S. Constitution.
