Description: Self recorded reminiscences (1987) of service during World War II with the 14th Malaria Control Unit of the U.S. Air Corps stationed on New Guinea and in the Philippines. Bryan describes duty as a hospital inspector in Atlanta (Ga.), and a sanitation inspector at Camp Adair in Oregon, overseas duties in malaria prevention at Dobodura Airfield in New Guinea, malaria control methods, including drainage projects and the use of DDT, his deployment to the Philippines at Dulag/Burauen on the island of Leyte and in Manila and surrounding areas, and incidents involving Japanese, American, and Filipino forces in the area.
