Description: Carbon copy of a typed letter from Emmett R. Wooten to M. A. Bennett of Jackson Springs, North Carolina. Wooten congratulates Bennett on his recent Democratic nomination for the House of Representatives, and solicits support for his own candidacy for Speaker of the House for the 1915 General Assembly. Wooten was elected to four consecutive terms in the North Carolina House of Representatives (1909-1915). Not long after his election as Speaker of the House in 1915, Wooten died from injuries caused by an automobile accident.
