Description: Handwritten minutes from the East Carolina Teachers College Student Government Association (SGA) meetings dated September 29, 1927 to May 30, 1929. The minutes provide an image of college life at the time. The bulk of the minutes regard discussion of student privileges, discipline for various offenses, and the consequences handed down by SGA to offenders. Other items of note include a list of issues taken with student behavior at meal times (p.37), including: coming to breakfast in pajamas and gym clothes, sitting during prayer, and not using napkins. Also of note are superlatives awarded to invdividual students (p.45), guidelines for behavior in the chapel, planning for campus entertainment, and a typed amendment to the SGA constitution (p.137). Minutes are written on letterhead of the organization.
