Description: Handwritten minutes from the East Carolina Teachers College Student Government Association (SGA) meetings dated September 28, 1922 to May 27, 1924. The minutes provide an image of college life at the time. The bulk of the minutes regard student discipline for various offenses including stealing, skipping study hour, flirting with boys while on and off campus, meeting boys off campus, dancing outside, and using bad language. The students were disciplined in various ways, including being confined to room, having off-campus privileges taken away, and being expelled. During this period, only female students lived on campus. Additional items of note include President Robert Wright commenting on many school matters, including individual cases of student discipline, and the SGA getting funding for the school newspaper, finding a new headquarters for the group, policy creation, and implementing new methods for registration. Most of the minutes are written on loose leaf paper, but some include the letterhead of the organization.
