Description: Letter from George Attmore Sparrow at Camp Pettigrew Topsail to his father Major Thomas Sparrow in Wilmington, NC. George writes to his father that he sent three letters, one for him and two to send along, that his father has apparently not received. George says that in the letter he asked for some flour crackers or something like them from the commissary. He also says to send him a bill and he will send the money for them. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
