- Letter from George Attmore Sparrow to his father Thomas Sparrow. George writes to his father to inform him of his safe arrival at Green Wreath, a plantation house in Pitt County, NC. On the way down he met Lt. Stephen Sparrow who will remain with them a few days. George also says that he bought some fishing poles and that the family is safe and sends their love. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
