Grading bench
Title: Grading bench
Identifier: Tobacco Farm Life Museum   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/13908)
Description: Selling tobacco originally required farmers to separate their crop into various grades before taking it to market. The benches held the separated tobacco until there was enough to tie into a "hand." Federal standards in grading eventually eliminated this step for the farmer and created the tobacco inspectors profession at the warehouse. The video includes a former tobacco worker providing personal anecdotes about the grading process. Date unknown.
