Description: Commander Wolfe describes his early life and education; experiences at the US Naval Academy, where he graduated in 1941; World War II service; and post-war assignments until he retired in 1962. He comments on duty aboard the USS HERBERT in the Caribbean in 1941, convoy duty in the North Atlantic, sonar training, anti-submarine duty in the Gulf of Mexico in the USS DAHLGREN, and flight training and PV I instructor duty. Post-war stations include duty in the Philippines, Hawaii, and D.C.; Mediterranean service in the USS CORAL SEA; and a tour at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Interviewers: Donald R. Lennon and Dr. Fred D. Ragan.
