Spring Clocks: ; This is fairly self-explanatory, referencing spring-driven clocks evidently carried by the English. Spring-driven clock technology, which had an advantage over weight and rope-driven clocks in that springs release energy in any position and when in motion (though unevenly), had been perfected as early as 1430. These clocks, because they did not need weights, could be made smaller and often were able to fit in relatively small casings as box-shaped table clocks.;
