Stukeley, John: ; John Stukeley is listed as one of the gentlemen of the company on the 1585 Voyage to Roanoke under Richard Grenville. Some scholars believe that Stukely may have been the brother of Grenville’s brother in law, Thomas Stukeley. Evidently his relations with Raleigh soured considerably following the voyage, and years later, in Ralph Lanes 1592 reflections on the 1585 voyage, testimony of Sir Lewis Stukely, the son of John Stukely, is given in which it is alleged that Raleigh cheated Stukely out of a large portion of his share of the profits of the expedition to the West Indies.;
