If you look at the context in which the term ‘pyne’ is used, in association with tropical fruits such as orange, lemon, plantain, etc., the intent is to describe a pineapple (see Wikipedia description of pineapple). The term ‘pyne’ is used in these works to describe BOTH pine and pineapple. The meaning is clear only from context.
