Aubry (Aubrey): ; Aubrey was one of the ships’ captains, likely of one of the Spanish prizes adopted by the fleet, on the 1585 Roanoke Voyage under Sir Richard Grenville. Quinn speculates that he may have been a relative to one William Aubrey, who was involved in the voyage and a friend of John Dee. During the voyage Captain Aubry, along with Captain Bonython (Boniten), found and picked up two of the men marooned on Croatan by Captain Raymond of the Lion. ;
