Abstract:

According to town historian Robin Lattimore, Rutherfordton's Man Street has been around since 1790. Half a century after the Revolution, Christopher Bechtler came to Rutherfordton and opened what became the most significant private mint i the nation's history. A list of specific attractions in the town is noted by the author.
