Abstract:
Hidden in western North Carolina is one of the best whitewater canoeing rivers in the country—the Nantahala River. However, in 1975 the area around the river was cut into by bulldozers to accommodate Corridor A. But recently, local North Carolinians have decided they do not want to see the Nantahala River subject to more construction.
