Now Forsyth County is home to more than 90 companies that specialize in biomedical science, clinical services, information technology, retail, and more. Forsyth is also attracting millions of dollars in investments from entrepreneurs who are working towards startup companies.

A new social district law was passed in September 2021, allowing an establishment to open "well-defined areas in which individuals can drink alcoholic beverages sold by permitted establishments." In the spirit of this new law, cities across North Carolina, including Greensboro, Durham, and Raleigh, have all adopted this idea, creating their own hub of downtown social districts.

AETNA, a Rhode-Island based health and life insurance company, plans to to take the edge in 2025 against Blue Cross Blue Shield with a three-year contract. The contract was awarded by The Health Plan's governing board, who plans to offer over 740,000 Raleigh-Durham residents a new option for health insurance.
