"Until a few years ago, Afshin Ghazi's nightlife hub was the place to be and be seen , in Charlotte. But the good times quickly faded with financial trouble, increasing violence, COVID, and today foreclosure and its third sale. What happened, and what's next?" The 2010 Democratic National Convention was a highlight for the Epicentre in 2012, with MSNBC broadcasting temporarily onsite. In 2014, Los Angeles based CIM Group bought Epicentre for $131 million.
