The county is currently needing more property to offer its global client base. The county's Kingsboro business park is already well-known and will reach its capacity in 2024. The Battleboro Business Park is is situated next to the CSXNCDOT intermodal terminal. The new park named Edgecombe East will be located off US Hwy 64 East.

It is noted that four facilities in North Carolina, including one planned for Tarboro will act as final stops in Amazon's transportation network before packages are delivered to customers. the Tarboro facility will have approximately 70,000 square feet of space and will be located in the Tarboro Commerce Center.

The former Edgecombe County Health Department on 3003 N. Main Street, vacant since 2016 has been acquired by Hykal Homes LLC, a North Carolina HUB certified business. Plans are to convert it to an apartment community for young professionals. The three on-site building comprise more than 60,000 square feet. Renovations bein the first half of 2025.

As part of its spring arts festival, Tarboro will be hosting an April performance and ten-day workshop by the New York Theatre Ballet. Events will also include a memorial exhibition in honor of Edgecombe native Hobson Pittman. Pitman was renowned for paintings evoking the South. The festival will conclude with a Gala will be held on April 30.
