Abstract:
North Carolina is considered one of the nation's most gerrymandered states. The article notes a number of key points. first and formost, gerrymandering is unfair to all participants in the political process. It polarizes, is costly and undermines democracy. A solution is seen in getting the North Carolina legislature to approve an independent redistricting commission.

A 2023 survey found that 62 % of restaurant operators don't have enough employees to meet customer demand. Charlotte-based Bojangles recently rolled out Bo-Linda, a voice robot that takes drive-thru orders. CEO Richard Del Valle estimates Bo-Linda saves four to five hours of employee labor a day.

"JCSU's (Johnson C. Smith University) massive photo collection shines light on a half-century of Black Charlotte history." Peeler was a professional photographer and studies at the New York Institute on the GI Bill. From the mid 1950s until his death in 2004, he took tens of thousands of photos. His daughter donated his collection to JCSU in 2010.
