Abstract:
A case involving a mistake by a veterinary clinic causing a dog’s death may have legal implications. The Industrial Commission in Durham will decide on the case later this fall and it could set a precedent for animal law in the state. The cost of how much a pet’s life is worth will be decided by the commission and will likely be the new standard for a pet's value in the state of North Carolina.

Michael’s documentary is about North Carolina’s racial issues from Reconstruction through the election of Barack Obama. They say they do things like sew, garden, can food, and more to improve the quality of their family’s lives. These women also discuss how important community is to their participation in these activities and how they can complete them while working full-time jobs and having a family.
