Long before joining the faculty at East Carolina, Carroll V. Dashiell, Jr. learned from the music industry’s greatest and performed with the Boston Pops, National Symphony, and Washington Philharmonic Orchestra. As a music educator at East Carolina, Dashiell gets to share his passion for music, specifically jazz, and bringing that genre to the masses.

Nearing thirty years as an instructor at East Carolina, Jeff Johnson encourages his students to have a personal stake in their research. As one of the most decorated professors at ECU, Johnson has received more than two million dollars in grant funding and is currently helping the US Army to better understand the other cultures with which they interact.

Christiane Cordero, a senior at East Carolina and aspiring broadcast journalist, is also one of about 205 ECU student-athletes who play on Olympic sports teams. A starting goalie, Cordero may receive little of the public attention that some revenue sports players do, but her schedule is just as hectic, and she has earned a spot on the Conference USA Honor Roll and other numerous accolades for athletic abilities.
