Special orders dated July 31, 1864, from Stephen D. Pool, Col. and Chf. Art., at Head Quarters 2nd Mil. Dist. Dept. N.C. and So. Va., Goldsboro, N.C., to Major Thomas Sparrow. Approved by order of Brigadier General Baker. Major Thomas Sparrrow of the 10th Regiment N.C. troops will proceed to Washington, N.C. without delay to take command of the artillery.
