Description: Note written by C.W. Elwell, Captain of the 34th Mass. Volunteer Infantry which fought at Fisher's Hill, Virginia, in September 1864, describing the diary found by one of his men on the battlefield. The diary was determined to be the work of Sgt. Henry Corbin of Company B, 23rd Virginia Cavalry.
