Description: Copy of correspondence from Ada Blackjack to Arctic explorer Vilhjalmur Stefansson. In the letter, Blackjack states that she is sick and in need of money. She asks Stefansson to pay her the remaining $200 owed her for her story of the events during the failed Wrangel Island Expedition. Blackjack was the sole survivor of the expedition. Stefansson claimed to have paid Blackjack all she was owed, while Blackjack maintained she was never compensated for her story.
