Description: Correspondence sent by Llewellyn J. Coppedge in Sparta, Georgia and Richmond, Virginia to Blanche Hardee Rives and Ralph Hardee Rives in Enfield, N.C. March 4, 1970 through June 2, 1970. In these fifteen letters Coppedge discusses his work as a medical missionary in the Congo and Mexico. He comments on the general living conditions and health risks in the Congo. Coppedge also discusses his family life and his own personal health. Llewellyn J. Coppedge (1882-1970) was a medical missionary in the Congo and later in Mexico. Blanche Hardee Rives (1887-1973), daughter of James Washington Hardee and Anna O. Lucas, resided in Enfield, Halifax County, North Carolina.
