Fire and Fur: The Last Sorcerer Dragon
Title: Fire and Fur: The Last Sorcerer Dragon
Identifier: 1029-s1-ss3-b4-f1   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/85759)
Description: Digital copy of fantasy author Roger C. Schlobin's 1994 electronic novel Fire and Fur: The Last Sorcerer Dragon. The novel is a fantasy story featuring dragons and cats as its main characters. According to Schlobin's publisher, OnmiMedia, the novel was among the first 2-3 original novels published "exclusively on the Internet." Today, Schlobin's novel would be recognized as an ebook. The first 20 chapters of the novel were available free of charge. A password was needed to read the remaining chapters and could be purchased for $7.95. The novel was also made available on floppy disk. The files of the archived edition presented here were created or last edited in 2004 and were donated on compact disc (CD). The following is a brief synopsis of the novel: The story incorporates Chinese mythology and tells the tale of "dragons terraforming the Gobi from sea to land [...] In doing so, they release an ancient enemy and their bane, the Azghun Demons, that had driven them into the sea in the first place." In response, a shaman cat, Mei-chou, comes to the aid of the last sorcerer dragon, Ao Rue, who must stand up to the demons while also pursuing unrequited love.
