Identifier: 0674-b9-fd   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/62492)
Description: Appraisal reports related to parcel 10-2 located at 101 N. Pitt St. and 313 and 317 W. 1st St., Greenville, N.C. and owned by Sallie Mae Norcott. Parcel Appraisal Report (1962) by D.G. Nichols, Realtor. A West Appraisal (1963) by George M. West, Real Estate Appraiser. Included in the reports are photographs of the three houses on the parcel. The parcel was purchased and the houses demolished as part of the Shore Drive Redevelopment Project meant to "revitalize" Greenville's downtown area, but which broke up a vibrant African American community and displaced over 250 African American families in the name of economic development. In one of the photographs for the 313 W. First Street house two African American boys can be seen in the yard in front of the house.
