E. C. Winslow Livery Stables #3 barn
Title: E. C. Winslow Livery Stables #3 barn
Identifier: 1174-s7-ss1-b41-fd   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/57062)
Description: Black and white image of an entryway into barn #3 showing wagon near entry, used by E. C. Winslow Livery Stables in Tarboro, N.C. The barn, no longer standing, was on Granville Street, a block away from the Winslow Livery Stable and office, on the east side of Main Street. Jim Winslow says that there used to be a very sturdy platform and step stored at the rear of the building that was used to unload elephants from a train car when the circus they belonged to went broke while in Tarboro many years ago. E. C. Winslow apparently housed and cared for the elephants while arrangements for them were being worked out. Date approximated.
