Reconstructed memories
Title: Reconstructed memories
Identifier: SOAD3834   (https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/54146)
Description: Print: photographic by Lisa Linnea Cornell for Spring 2013 in ART4250. My work considers the idea of memory and how people think back on a specific memory or moment. My goal is to visually emulate that thought process of remembering and forgetting. I do this by collecting old family photos from several different people and manipulate these photos in a specific collage technique. I take pieces of someone else’s memories and construct them into what I think that memory process would look like. The repetition of imagery reflects the act of someone thinking twice about something. The fading of a photo represents a memory that is not so clear. I hope to provide a universal response that allows the viewer to look back on their own thought process and memories.
