Robert is serving as a private in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery near Wilmington, N.C. Robert writes from his camp near the Sound. He asks Mag to share some of the palmetto he sent her with someone else. He also advises her on farm matters including planting crops and getting rails to fix the fences.
