Description: Letter from Confederate soldier Robert C. Caldwell to his wife Mag Caldwell. Robert is serving as a private in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery near Wilmington, N.C. Robert writes from Camp Davis on Masonboro Sound and says he sleeps in a tent lying on the ground. He writes that times are hard and he is sick and tired of the war, but trusts that God will see them through. He tells Mag there have been no cases of yellow fever.
