And also, an exact table of the titles of the acts in force. / Revised by commissioners appointed by an act of the General Assembly of the said province, for that purpose; and examined with the records, and confirmed in full assembly. Alternate title : Laws of North Carolina. Newbern [N.C.] : Printed by James Davis, M, DCC, LII [1752]. A reissue of the 1751 edition, with the date in the title page changed and the laws for 1752 added. Cf. Evans 6742, McMurtrie 5. Autographed in numerous places by "Juliana R. White." The watermarks indicate the source of the paper used to print this copy, some of which was pirated by British privateers from Spanish and Genoese adversaries during the War of Jenkin's Ear. This paper was then delivered to Colonial ports such as New Bern and sold cheaply to printers. James Davis was one such printer from New Bern who was commissioned to print the laws for the colony and used the pirated paper in this copy of the laws of the state. More information detailing this time in history, printing in the colonies, and the specific printing of this copy can be found on the Staff Picks page.
