Robert Morgan served as North Carolina State Senator (1965-1967), Attorney General (1968-1974), and U.S. Senator (1974-1980). He was also a member of the Boards of Trustees of East Carolina University (1958-1973) and of Lees-McRae College (1974-1977). He entered the North Carolina Bar in 1952.
