Description: Letter from Confederate soldier Robert C. Caldwell to his wife Mag Caldwell. Robert is serving as a private in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery near Wilmington, N.C. Robert writes from Camp Jackson that he is feeling better. He tells Mag he does not want press agents to take their horses, does not want her to take Confederate paper, and does not want her to sell flour at government prices. He reports on a church service he has attended and says that his next assignment is guarding government stores.
